FLASH: variable screen size and off-screen contents

I want to bring an object in from off screen in a piece that has a

scaling screen size.  When I test it in a browser and there is space on

the side of the flash piece (because it is maintaining it's aspect

ratio), you can see the object while it is 'off stage' before it comes

into the position on stage.  


Is there any way to prevent this or do I need to make the piece fixed

size?


What I want is a 'bounded' stage like you get with Director or

Authorware where something off stage is not visible.  Can I not have

scalability and a bounded stage together?
