Make sure you include the SWF file with the HTML file when you send it out
:) Flash doesn't "publish to HTML", it just creates an HTML file that calls
up your published SWF file. The same thing goes when you upload it all to
the web... make sure you upload both the HTML file and the SWF file.

Subject: FLASH: Flash: Published Wrong?

Hi all,
First I wanted to say thanx for putting up with all of the newbie
questions I posted. Your answers & suggestions are very much appreciated.

Second, another question (small wonder).

I created a really small .fla file (14KB I think) that just does some fading
in & out of text & last pops up a JPG pic. Runs in Test Movie great, so I
published it as HTML and opened it locally in IE 5. It took a couple of
seconds to load and ran like a champ. So, since it has to do with my dog, I
mailed it to my wife & instructed her to do the same steps (ie. save it to
her hard drive & run it from IE 4 I think she has). It wouldn't work. It
sat opening for at least 15 min. and never did a thing. So I tested it on a
couple of other PC's in my office. A pentium 166MHz desktop w/ IE 5 and a
233MHz laptop w/ IE 5, I got the same problem she did. Then I went to the
Macromedia site & downloaded both the Flash & Shockwave players just to be
sure, no luck same problem. All the while, it's running like a champ on my
production PC. Is it possible to publish it incorrectly?

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Eric Vega
