If you go to the PepsiWorld site, and look at the JavaScript, you'll see

that IE/Mac is redirected to the page

http://www.pepsiworld.com/alert.html


This page describes how the site uses scripting communication between the

HTML and Flash, and how IE/Mac offers neither Netscape's LiveConnect

mechanism, not Microsoft's ActiveX Scripting.


This is a little different than "go away" -- the alert tells visitors in

precisely which way their browser is deficient, and presents stronger

alternatives in which they might visit.


I don't know the ShockFusion site myself, but the old ShockRave site did

advise that IE/Mac could not tell JavaScript if it had various players

installed. Visitors in that browser could not have their hands held for the

auto-detect routine.



Recap:


IE/Mac is different from Netscape browsers and from Microsoft's other

browsers. Specifically:


--  IE/Mac will not tell JavaScript what it can do (ie, not browser-detect)


--  IE/Mac will not let scripts communicate with objects (ie, no FSCommand)


--  IE/Mac has various other small differences too, both with components

and even with HTML rendering
