FreeHand is a general design tool, while Fireworks and Flash are
specialized delivery editors. This is also why you'll find more
art-creation tools in FreeHand... it's a general-purpose design
environment.
(Fireworks and Dreamweaver are tightly integrated because there's usually
an iterative process in creating the graphics and markup of a website.
Dreamweaver and Fireworks don't open each others' files, but you can use
both of these specialized delivery editors in tandem, on their respective
media elements.)
Are you in a situation where you created some complex art in FreeHand, such
as a map, and start to animate it, and then later decide that the towns
change in a way you can't edit in Flash? Or, what's a scenario where you'd
want to jump back to the general design tool from the specialized delivery
editor...?
