No, it is because I am personally involved in Direct-L and Lingo-L, and

will often go to great lengths to help newcomers there get a feel for

Director or Lingo or the list itself.


There is not much tolerance for those who want their work done for them,

true, but that's the way it is in the programming world, and when one

jumps over to Director one has, desired or not, entered the programming

world.


Ask some of the questions on DL in other fora concerning, say, C++

(relatively in terms of competence) and see how nice the replies *there*

are.


I think your initial statement makes DL and its subbers seem like turds,

and that is an unfair generalization. I think you probably know that

too.
