Subject: FLASH: Might be offline in the evenings...

...for a while.

Not that anyone asked, of course.

But my home system is basically begging to be liberated from the
shackles of Redmond-generated architecture, which means that I at least
have to dualboot between NT and a *real* OS, read Linux.

'Course I have to install said OS, and do it in such a way so as not to
compomise existing filesystem structure. I have done Linux installs
before and have a realistic idea how long this will take. If it were a
fresh system it'd be less time than it takes to W95 a drive, or about 45
minutes. Since this has to coexist with an NT system, though, things are
yea more delicate. (Thanks, Bill, you mumble mumble mumble)

What this means is that for the next several days my evening replies may
not happen. From about 18:00 on, Central Daylight US time, I will
probably not be online as I fuss and cuss and hack the new install.

Not many of you might really care, but some will, which is of course why
I am sending this along. (This is sent to plural recipients, obviously.)

What's nice is that once the install's done, the theory is that updates
are ever so much less painful.

So hopefully briefly I wish you nightside wayfarers a godspeed and note
this will have *no* effect on nightwares content at all.
