That's easy Paul,
They have two images of the car one realistic one schematic. The thin bar
that comes up is just that a thin white bar. The image of the schematic is
the mc with the motion. It looks as if it was step animated. Think of it as
a question of removing instead of moving.They used the same test over and
over, saving on load time. I believe that if the underlying image were
removed you would have a clearer picture, of exactly how this was created.
The fact that there is a picture underneath, a more detailed example of the
same illustration lends itself to having a smoother transation then it
actually is.
