FLASH: Detecting amount of text?

Hi All,


I've got a question that i'm hoping someone can help me out with so i don't 

spend hours trying to figure it out =).


I have a text field that is being filled by a text file...simple enough.  

What i'm hoping to do is have it check to see if there is more text than 

what can be displayed at one time in the text field and automatically set 

the visibility on the scroll bar to true.


Any help is appreciated.
