There's currently a beta build of the Macromedia Flash 5 Player publicly

available, and we'd greatly appreciate your help in testing it. The goal is

to have the new player render existing sites exactly the same, and although

in-house engineering and external beta-testing is going well, we still need

to turn up any discrepancies NOW.


(Once the Player is approved for general release, then the public will have

it! Any subsequent changes would require they re-install. That's why we

want the Player to be identical before the public gets it!)

Here's the necessary info:

Your browser and OS versions; the URL; the section that acts differently;

what should happen; what actually happens; any significant authoring

techniques used in that area (a complex script, a level-load, nested

symbols, etc).



The Macromedia Flash 5 authoring environment is currently in private beta,

and is expected for release towards September. The first version will

likely be the downloadable purchase version, followed in a few days by the

extra bits for the trial wrapper. If you purchased Macromedia Flash 4 after

June 26 then we'd like to send you a complementary upgrade... more info
