I'm glad that a subsequent post shows you got what you wanted.

Recap: The Fill Inspector is always available now... it and the Color Mixer
are non-modal. To create a new gradient, choose the type of gradient
desired from the Fill Inspector, select any color chip, choose a new color
either from the swatch popup in the Fill Inspector or create a new color in
the Color Mixer.

Gradient tips:

-- Click below the gradient bar to add a new color chip to create
multicolor gradients.

-- To remove a color chip in a multicolor gradient, drag it off the
gradient bar.

-- Click "Save Gradient" to add it to your swatches.

-- Choose "Hide Edges" to see an object's color fully while creating its
gradient.

-- To make an alpha gradient, select a color chip and adjust its Alpha in
the Color Mixer.

-- To change the angle or radius of a gradient, use the "Transform Fill"
Option for the Paintbucket Tool.
