FLASH: importing a .swf

Is it possible to import a .swf movie to a new Flash movie? I still have the

original flash files from the old .swf that I want to import, but I thought

it might be easier to simply import the .swf file instead of copying all of

the frames. The imported movie will not play when I try it. Is there some

sort of command to play the movie inside of another movie? 


I hope that made sense.
