The correct loading target point depends on the particular movie. It is
set to the point where the movie will continuously stream (play without
stopping to wait for more content to load). The loading target point in
a movie could be anywhere from frame 1 to the last frame and depends on
the speed of the connection.

Sure you have, you just were unaware of it. Not every presentation uses
a preloader and even when one is used there is rarely a need to preload
the whole movie. depending on your connection speed an installed
preloader does not even have to play if your connection is good.

All preload schemes allow you to see the frame where you test for
loading and it should be set based on the needs of the particular movie.
It is best not to use a loading screen, but provide precontent if a
delay is needed. Movies stream best (often with no need for a preloader)
when they require less bytes at the beginning and add content as time
goes on.

If using Flash 4, we have the first of our preloaders that take the
druggery out of supplying preload content.
