Depends on the complexity of the project. If your
using video (avi/mpeg/qt) then Flash won't work.
However, we've made slide shows with flash animation.
mp3 sycned soud, etc, and it works very well for that.
Flash does have trouble as the size of a single movie
gets large (our 256 mb machines all bogged down ~90mb
fla size), use load movie to get around this.
Advantages are flash is a far simpler program than
director, so less learning curve, its easier to make
rollover buttons and simple interactivity. However,
for more complex CD based projects, Director is the
way to go.
