Hi,
That is a problem and I'm sure you can fix that by overwrite the .ocx file
by yourself. Downloading the newest shockwave/flash software from MM
shouldn't be a problem (if you don't choose the auto-install funktion).
I did that serveral times but with no succes at all.
When I doubleclick a .swf file the player opens but doesn't show anything.
It only shows me the content when I choose the open funktion in file menu!

just had a problem with the flash player
I installed Microsoft Encarta 98 for my daughter about two days ago well I
just tried to view a flash site
to no avail blank page ,went to MM to download flash player would not
download at all.
checked to see which player is installed said flash 2.0. it seems that
Encarta overwrote my flash 4.0 .ocx file
which prevented me from viewing and even downloading a newer player.
