Good info. As for Micron, I know a guy who hates his worse that 

you hate Quantex, so I guess any of them can go bad. Any of 

them is as good as the warranty and tech support. 


My Gateway has been trouble free, although I has to refomat twice, 

but that is probably my fault. their support has been a life-saver to 

me, and just wonderful. I think Dell has a good Rep on this too. 


So I too would still stick to one of the two-If I stcik with these two 

giants. But I still wonder about the "others", like Sun etc. 


also, I think many people "put" together their own computer, with 

all tha parts customized-as this thread started. AL Lyman
