Subject: RE: FLASH: Flash & Generator

i've read the FlashPoint article mentioned, looked under the hood, taken it
for a test ride... but it sure seems that it shows how a dynamic process
can utilize static content, and not external content (ie. all menu &
submenu titles are compiled into the .swf, and not being read in from an
external source). it looks like a great development technique, but it
doesn't seem to be the solution i'm looking for.

to re-focus my question...

can a .swf grab text-based content from an external source, and put it into
a text field? I'm led to believe it can (thank you, cheri and mathias).
if so, does anyone know of any tutorials or resources relevant to the
technique/functions/commands? i have searched MM support, as well as other
informative and dependable flash resource sites, and haven't found
anything...

No. Take a look at http://www.builder.com/Graphics/FlashPoint/111999/?ta
g=st.bl.3883.plbl
where there also is a downloadable tutorial and FLA.
