hey jeremy

netscape has a different DOM to ie which is why that won't work...

I haven't talked to java from javascript, though you might want to try
adding document.nameofapplet...

because you can't be browser specific from within flash (well it's
easier not to be) you'll want to write a function which does all the
talking to the java applet... then call the javascript function with the
string as an argument from within flash

as I said I don't have experience talking to java, though
http://developer.netscape.com will have information on the proper way to
access the java applet...

let me know if none of this makes sense
