FLASH: Bitmapped Images: File Formats

I need to use a bitmapped image for a background in my movie. My question

concerns file formats for importing. I have had good luck importing 16 bit

pict images into Director--is this a good format for importing into Flash?

16 bit pict file w/ no compression. The image needs to be as close to the

original PhotoShop file as possible--the image will not be animated at all,

and will only take up half the screen.
