Mac:

My favorite audio editor is Peak, avaliable in LE ("light") or full-strength.
An awesome editor. Check it out at: http://www.bias-inc.com/
(You can download a demo to try out.)


A cheaper way to go is SoundMaker from MicroMat. Very full-featured for
around $99US street.

For our PC brethren and, uh, sistren (?) SoundForge is very very cool,
and pretty robust as well. I hear great things about it (and from it.)
