Yes, I had the demo first, and then when F5 was released I installed the
real copy. Had the same problem, but deleted the F5 pref's and then
restarted the Mac. Did this a few times until the problem dissappeared. Why?
Ain't got a clue !! It just did.
Experienced it over the weekend - again - with a work colleague's Powerbook
G3. Roughly every second launch it comes up with "Non-commercial Use", but
still it works, which is the main thing I guess.
I don't know, I think Mac OS 9.04 & F5 is a somewhat compromised bundle.
After a gazillion crashes per hour, I now have it running more stable (= for
hours at least), but after doing "Test Movie" 5 -10 times it all starts
slowing down and grinding to a halt. (frame rates around 1 - 2 per sec).
Have to quit out of F5 and start up again. By the way, F5 eats RAM like a
cookie monster. After 2 launches, my 448 MB RAM is down to just a measily 97
MB (F5 RAM allocation set to 120 MB)
So, I cant wait until the F5 update for Mac's arrive !!! Am I alone on this
??
regards
Mats

Subject: FLASH: Crazy Flash 5 serial number problem (Mac)
I have a copy of Flash 5 at work and a copy at home. At work I installed
over the Flash 5 demo and had no problems. At home, I installed it (the
difference is no demo was ever installed) but every time I launch it I have
to retype my serial number in. (both were installed from CD, not
electronically). It seems to me as if the prefs file isn't getting saved
properly.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas? This is a new one on me. I have an
email in to tech support but it is such a weird problem that I wanted to see
if anyone here could help.
Rebecca
