A bit late but...
I thought your hierarchical experiment was interesting and beautiful. It
reminded me of the kind of hierarchical object approach used in artificial
life programmes like "FramSticks".

As you say of your own piece"with VERY little effort..." great possibilities.
With a few "getVariable[s]" and some "random", the children of this 5K
critter would make superb organic preloading sequences.
Any chance of a commented FLA?
