Thanks for your comprehensive answer Mike, but I've still got a coupla
niggling doubts...

Well, this is it, the way the SWF's work they wouldn't need to be
updated/republished, only the text files. Say you had a 1000 quiz
questions and 20 different styles of quiz games (like www.douno.com),
the SWF's just pull in whatever text is there as long as the most up to
date versions are in the right directory I should be OK...
...hang on...
...if I do it like this the movie and the text file are gonna cache to
the users hard drive, right? That means unsrupulous gits could analyze
the text file and start making there own quizzes based on my groovy
templates, right? Does Generator deal with just such an issue by
compiling the text data and SWF's off line so the user never sees the
text file? Or can it even convert my text files to an SWF which just
contains the variables? Hmmm...I better go and download that trial
version.
