FLASH: why wont it stop..

hi ..


i have a some frame on a time line which calls a movie with a mask lets say 8 frame


after 4 of them i want it to stop and show a button to continue... 


i then added a layer above it and at the 4 frame added a key frame and stop..


but the scene just carries on..


what causes that and how can i stop it
