Subject: | FLASH: <FLASH> problems rendering special characters |

Hello List,
Here's the Problem:
I have an MC named 'text_animation', within which resides an MC named
'text_mc' in turn containing an MC called 'letter' which contains a single
text field.
The top MC takes a variable /:text which contains some string. It plucks all
the letters out of this text. It then duplicates the text_mc a number of
times according to how many letters are contained in the string in the
/:text variable. It then puts the respective letters into their duplicated
mc's. Everything works fine except... I have a German client and there are
those funny Umlaut thongs everywhere and FLASH 4.0a (Flash 5 player) doesn't
want to render them.
Any one know a work around or encountered similar problems?
I really need help on this, otherwise I have to animate all the text by
hand. Yuck, I wanted to go climbing next weekend.
