The closest thing I've seen to 100% is the one we use on our site, which

uses no JavaScript (which is a good thing, since JavaScript is probably

enabled in less browsers than Flash).  It's Macromedia's "self-detecting

sniffer" method, not something we came up with on our own, but if

you're interested, we have example source (FLA & HTML) up at:

I spent a lot of time testing out every method I could find, and this is the

only one I found satisfactory.  The only drawback I find is the client-side

redirect, so if you're looking to avoid a client-side redirect, then maybe

JavaScript is your only answer.
