Subject: FLASH: detecting flash 4.0.2 for print
From: Hiroshi Nakahara
Date: Mon, 11 Dec 2000 16:57:20 GMT

I posted this on a weekend...which I know can get lost w/ the flow this
mailing list has...
but I figure I'll try to post again...on a clear hungover monday morning :)

Sorry for those who have to read it twice...its been giving me a headache
too.

I have written a client side application that takes data from a web page
processes and calculates data via JavaScript and dynamically generates a web
page with the results, the user then has an option to print these results
through a flash movie. The user is only able to print the results if they
have the Flash 4.0.2.0 plug-in. When I delve into checking the plug in
version I noticed Macromedia specifies there sub releases with revision
numbers (Flash 4.0 r28), my question is if someone has the Flash 4.0.2.0
plug in how will this read when I detect the plug-in?

I found an old version of the Flash 4 plug-in that reads Flash 4.0 r7, I am
assuming the Flash 4.0.2.0 plug-in will never read Flash 4.0 r2 but instead
read Flash 4.0 r20 or greater.
