I don't have a matching cause for that symptom, sorry. I do know that
similar symptoms have appeared in other applications because of background
utilities installed, so seeing if it appears in a stock installation could
be useful.

The one-or-all-times test could be useful too... if it always shows this,
in every session, at startup, then that could be a different scenario than
if it only occurs when working on a particular file with lots of audio and
bitmaps, for instance.
