FLASH: detecting flash plugin

Hi, this is kinda beginers question.

OK, I want to make a flash banner, and I need the script that will detect if the flash plug-in is present, and if not put a .jpg or .gif file in place of the flash banner.

I tried to change the publish settings and select the "Flash 4 With Image" template, but it's not working. So I'll be very thankfull if i got the script :)))
