I see what you mean.


I have to say that I had to edit out any reference to the Java Player option

in our Flashed sites' intro pages (as they were then), simply because it did

not have enough of the capabilities for playing certain kinds of Flash

movies that the plugin provides. I believe you when you say that the Java

Player works slowly (in general), which is a shame, because it would save a

lot of the hassle associated with persuading people to download the

plugin...



We are now using a system which centers around using a Flash movie as a

"switch" to determine if the plugin is installed. Movie plays -you have the

plugin. No movie -you don't have the plugin -here's how to get the plugin...

it works well for us.
