Hi Richard and all,


The following are instructions for fading a Symbol to white over 10

frames.


   1.Create a new layer 

   2.Drag your Symbol from the Library into the layer 

   3.Insert Frame at frame 10 of the layer 

   4.Make frame 10 a Key Frame 

   5.Make frame 10 the Current Frame (indicated with the current frame

marker in the time line) 

   6.Select Modify > Element, or double click the Symbol. A Link

Properties: Symbol dialog box

     will appear 

   7.In the Color Effect field, choose Brightness 

   8.Move the slider all the way to the right, or enter 100 in the %

field 

   9.Click OK 

  10.With the Frame Pop up Menu in frame 1, choose Tweening... 

  11.In the Tweening field, select Motion 

  12.Uncheck Tween scaling, Tween rotation, and Orient to path direction

unless you are using

     these features 

  13.Click OK 


If you want to fade to a specific color such as yellow, select Special

or Tint instead of Brightness in step 7. Then specify the RGB values of

the color to which you want your Symbol to fade.


Note: Color effects can only be done on Symbols from the Library. Look

at the word in brackets [ ] just above the preview window of the movie

Library to verify that the Library element you are using is a Symbol.
