I understand your point Jeff, but even in hierarchical families you still
must have individual names! As a default it will usually name it itself in
the application: i.e.:
sphere 01, sphere 02, sphere 03. Keeping this in mind, I choose to still
name the children of a certain group for which they pertain to such as arm
as the parent, in this group, forearm, elbow, elbow joint, hand (different
parent within the arms' grouping)
finger01, finger 02, finger03, etc.

Having to go through and tweak each polygon, even if it's just to move it a
touch, in the long run it's so much easier if they're named individually.

Using this formula in Flash is no exception. This way there will be no
confusing objects with each other, objects within groups, objects with
scripting attached, objects with script attached within a grouped of objects
with script attached. etc.etc. Why? Because they all have their own name,
not to be confused with any of the other names already given to other
objects in the movie!

(object = graphic, movie clip, button)

cYa,

Mary Brzys
