targeting multiple MCs

Im having problems with targeting multiple MCs - it seems that if I have a

button action perform more than 36 tell target actions I get a Mac 'error

type 12' when trying to publish/export/test the movie. This seems to be

something to do with Flash's in-built debugger. Is this a known limit?

Are there any ways round this?
