I hoped I understood your question and the answer helps.
Here is an example of what I did (without the tracing)

Subject: [flasher] IMPORTING VIDEO FOOTAGE INTO FLASH FOR TRACING.
Hello Flashers:
Does anyone transfer video into Flash as part of
his/her gig and how best do I solve this problem?
I need to import some video footage of a pitcher
(pitching a ball) into Flash. I then have to trace
specific frames in order to animate the pitchers body
movement in flash.
1: Do I need a Firewire (IEEE 1934) connection/adapter
to hook up a VCR to my WIN based computer? What are
the alternatives?
2: I have Adobe Premier 5 (just bought the Peachtress
press book to try and get up to speed). Does premier
lend itself to this kind of job?
I am told that TigerDirect.com also offers a consumer
type of video capture software. Any tried and true
methods out there please? I'm under the proverbial
gun.
Many thanks in advance!
Francis
