Stopping all sounds

Got a small sound dilemma problem.


Situation:

I have a looping movie.

It has both on event sound clips inbedded in the main timeline + an swf 

called up (with background music looped to 999).


The looped bk music is controlled via an on/off music toggle button.


The Problem:

I would like the button action to control the movie even after it 

loops....but, of course the music.swf starts up again.


And, having the music.swf off at the first play is out of the question.


Any ideas?
