Neal,
I too know this problem too well, BUT I have solved it and my G3 B&W works
like a computer should. I start it up at around 8am and sometimes closes it
around 10pm without a single incident of unstability.
My suggestion for you is do a search through the archives and you will find
many recommendations, because the topic has been discussed before.
Secondly, check that you have OS 9.04, MRJ 2.2.2/3 and that all your other
extensions/programs/non-Apple control panels are up to date, and the latest
ones. This solved the "a crash per hour" syndrome on my Mac, so it works.
However, I too would hope for/EXPECT MM to come out with some stability
patch for the Mac OS 9.x, but then I'd probably be happier if they spent all
their time working on an OS X port of F5 instead, since that will matter
more to me after March 24.
regards,
Mats
