Hey jd,
I just want you to know that I've tried to search through the tech notes
for the mac crashes but it is VERY difficult and a lot of the items you
mention do not come up in the top notes or searches I've performed. I
think the Sound Panel issue is the most serious Flash specific issue I
can think of, since it didn't happen in Flash 4 but happens regularly
with larger file sizes of sound in Flash 5 for me and many others.
I won't belabor that point. I too look forward to OSX version though I
haven't used Flash 5 since Oct because of this sound panel problem and my
need to incorporate sounds.
However, I would like specific information on the track ball driver
problem and constrained memory. Are you talking about in the latter, not
giving Flash enough memory ? And a link to the bad driver issue would be
helpful. I couldn't find that one tech note.
I now have Macsbugs installed again, so as I start to develop new flash
sites I'll be retesting Flash 5, but it is disappointing to be afraid to
use a program for 6 months after purchasing it. Normally MM patches and
fixes don't take that long. The Sound Panel problem sounds more like an
MM problem than the others, and I sent in my crashing files months ago to MM.
