It seems so simple, I'm not sure I get the problem.

Start a new symbol in symbol editing window.

Make a square with the pencil tool set to square.

Copy and paste it in place using Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Shift-V.

Scale the copy (which should now be the only selected graphic) to 80%, or

whatever, using Ctrl-Alt-S.

Use the bucket to fill in between the lines.

Keep or erase the lines -- your option.


When composing such things as this by using more complex, single lines, use

the arrow tool with Snap enabled to drag the ends of the lines so they snap

to each other.


Does this help or am I missing the point?
