There is a company called Infinite Pictures which makes a product called
SmoothMove to stitch together photos or rendered 3D, similar to QTVR. It
works with the 8mm photos, but they claim to need 3 of them for the full
sphere. You can get free plugins to view their panoramas. I have NOT
tried their stitcher. However, the results seem nice. Here is their web
