I concur. Where I have seen the system information deployed in a useful manner
is on FlashPad (<http:www.flashernet.com>http:www.flashernet.com). There,
whenever a person posts a response, particularly useful when done immediately
after testing somebody's URL, the form posting includes a Javascript
process of
polling the poster's system information, which is then displayed beside the
post. Though this doesn't accommodate those who might use a second system
sided
by side with the main one, for any testing, still, for most, it serves as an
up-to-date source of system information.

Unfortunately, of course, that doesn't work with a mail list.
