I just did that at http://www.dartfrogmedia.com/rickfrnd but not without
some problems. Possibly my midi file has too much superfluous data. It
appears to work consistently on PC's, and most of the time on Macs.

Flash will not play MIDI. What you must do is load the midi into another
frame, which can be a hidden frame. If you are willing to require visitors
to have the Beatnik plug-in, you can get tight control of the MIDI playback
by using FS Command. See http://members.tripod.com/NigelR/marc.html for the
example and then go back to the menu to find tutorial information on Flash
and Beatnik integration. I did not want to require Beatnik, so my site just
loads a MIDI file into the hidden frame and allows the user to load a dummy
MIDI file into the frame to turn off the sound.
