Hi Jeff,

Primarily it was a file size decision. However were that not a concern I
would also have been hesitant about requiring the Flash4 plug-in. In many
situations I wouldn't worry about it. But the site is targeted to people
shopping for live music. They likely don't know Rick's music yet, and they
may or may not have much incentive to load a plug-in or wait for a 300k
file to load. I wanted their gratification to be as instantaneous as
possible. Since the site is reminiscent of old movies and rinky-tink
pianos, I felt the piano synth in most sound cards would be fine, so a real
wave audio wasn't necessary. By the way, we're still ironing out glitches
in the MIDI playback, so those of you on Macs may or may not hear the
entire piano track. Thanks to Lewis Francis who took a look at the midi and
found a lot of extraneous data that we're hoping to clean up soon.
