For simple stuff like that I'd check out Cinema4D Go,
~100$, very fast(www.cinema4d.com). Another slightly more
expensive option would be Kinetix/Discreet's 3dStudio Viz,
a low end cousin of Max that also works with illustrate and
nemo...
