Perhaps you're creating them far off center in the edit window, so that
their centers are out of view or not apparent on stage. You re-edit the
symbols and move the graphics closer to the center of the edit window, or
you can zoom out in the main timeline view until the center crosshairs are
visible, then use Modify->Transform->Edit Center to change the crosshair
location for just the current instance of the symbol. Note that if you edit
the center of just one instance in a two-instance motion tween, you will
likely get some peculiar results.
