FLASH: how to: sound--which hardware & software?

hi list,

I would like to know --from top to bottom-- how to create my own sound/music

for flash sites.  I have only done sites for very boring businesses, and

just landed an art gallery--they want LOTS of music and button sounds, etc.

Here is how little I know about putting sound to the web--

1) what software should I get for creating the music/sound?

2) what hardware do I need? recording equipment? do i need to hire a

mariachi band and stand there with my tape recorder?


I've got til April, so I'm not in a hurry to learn something in a week, and

I can read music and play the "pie-anna"


sorry for the conceptual question, but I have stayed away from sound as a

philosophy until now-- but even without the customer's request, it's time to

learn sound-- many of you on the list have been creating very cool sites

with very appropriate sound.
