Seen this one before.
My workaround was to copy all frames in the file.
Next, create a new file with the same dimensions and background colour.
Finally, paste frames in the new file.
This seemed to clean up the mysterious MC.
*Be aware that it will delete any unused instance in your library as well.*
(Not a bad thing if you're looking to clean up your file.)
Seems to have made my file run a little better afterwards.
