Hmm, I found it much easier to create a walking character
in nemo than in Flash;-)....compared to other methods of
creating real time 3d I found Nemo very easy (draw a loop
cycle, drag'n'drop keyboard control, collison detection,
etc.) certainly easier to program complex actions than say,
Director....have you done the provided tutorials?

But yeah, the plug-in is large, requires a restart. And the
program requires an OpenGl card and a WindowsOS. And it
doesn't stream. IMHO, its a year or so away from being *the
next big thing* ;-).

Anyway, they have a free 90 day demo and a listserve for
questions, best to continue this discussion over there.
