Double Messages with outlook express and outlook is usally because it has
lost its reference number with the server or has had problems somewhere with
one of the messages.... Usally when you have Outlook set not to delete a
message off the server for X days (like I do so I can get a copy of all the
flash mail at home as well:) The easyest way to stop this from happening
when you see it start, is
1st, tell the Outlook to STOP keeping messages on the server (i know, this
will mean you might miss a few, but it beats multiple messages).
2nd Log into your server with a telnet app and (hopefully they have it) use
PINE to open your mail box and see if there is any stragelers left in your
box... usally there is one or two messages that outlook has lost the
reference for and those are causing Outlook to hicup on occasion and
download messages twice and sometimes more.... I have had one instance when
I had my mail to check every 2 mins and then left it open when I went away
on lunch and came back to 20 dupes of each message......
As far as it automaticly deleting any messages.... sorry I dont know of any
way to do that
