We have hundreds upon hundreds of pages using the window.open model;  we 

go to great lengths to test and accommodate as many browsers as possible, 

*especially* our Mac Brethren; trust me, it works.


I would suggest you have library conflicts leftover from trying to use IE 

4.1 and 4.5 on the same System (they cannot coexist unless you 

AppleScript or manually exchange the library/extent sets before each 

browser launch).


I also did not fully check the syntax of the script you posted; it may be 

defective.


A quick look at "JavaScript: the Definitive Guide" or any of the 

definitions at W3c.org will instruct you in writing a functioning model.
