FLASH: New to Flash

I purchased the Coriolis book Flash 4 Web Animation f/x & Design in an

effort to teach myself Flash4.  Chapters 3 through 5 discuss drawing

with Flash & various techniques.  Is it necessary to actually draw

everything in Flash, or can you not import an image from an external

graphics application into Flash?  My intention was to design individual

images in Photoshop 5.0 & let Flash do the rest.


I'm sure reading the entire book will answer my question, but I'm fat &

lazy, and just would appreciate a quick answer.
