FLASH: showing/leaving trails

Howdy fellow flashers.

Is there a way to create trails, say of a ball moving across the

screen...leaving a duplicate of itself behind?  This has always been a handy

effect I could do in Animator pro/Studio for showing and creating liquid

flows and need to know if it can be done in Flash.

Thanks ahead of time for any help on this.
